General Questions
How can I pay for my policy?
There are 5 methods of payment
Direct Debit
New Clients: A deposit is required in order to set up the cover and direct debit. This will be depending on the premium and type of insurance.
Existing Client: No deposit is required if your payment has been successful in the previous year’s whilst insured with Crownsway.
BACS
Cash: the cash BACS appears in the account within 3 hours if paid in AM if after PM this would take another day
Cheque: this would take up to 7 to 14 working days and is not advisable if you wish to receive an immediate cover.
Cash
This can be processed when you visit the office.
Cheque
We accept cheques but please allow sufficient time for the cheque to clear.
Credit Card
We accept all major Credit Cards and Debit Card at a surcharge.
Debit: £1.00
Credit Card: 3%
Will I be given notice to when my policy is expired?
A renewal notice will be given with a premium. This will be given in sufficient time.
Will my premium be cheaper than last year?
This would be based on any changes to the policy or if there had been any claims in the previous years. The policy would need to be reviewed by the underwriter before the renewal premium are given.
Why do I have to refill in the proposal form when i have been your client longer than 3 years?
We ask of all our existing clients to complete a new form after 3 years, this is to keep your records updated. The same applies even if there are no changes to the policy.
What do I do if I have a Claim?
It is important that the claim is reported immediately to the Crownsway Team. You will be asked to complete the Claim form which is downloadable from the website and post/fax/email immediately. Upon return of the completed form you will be advised about the next process. We deal with the majority of claims in house and provide fast, efficient and reliable service. We constantly update you with progress on your claim and look for early settlement.
Why do you have to ask so many questions for a quote?
The premium is based on the information you provide. If we have not been given the accurate information the policy may become void due to the material non disclosure.
For motor we are able to contact more than 3 companies on your behalf as each company may have additional questions that need answering.

What document do I need to present for motor/taxi/motor trade insurance?
Documentations that are required in order to place cover are;

Commercial
How would i know what needs to be covered?
Inform Crownsway of your need or explain more about your business and we can set up a package for your insurance needs. This will be tailored for your needs.
Household
The property is unoccupied but will be let out, what would the quotation be based on?
Crownsway will quote the premium as unoccupied it woiuld than need to be notified to Crownsway of any changes made to the policy.
Can I insure more than one property under one policy?
This would be taken as a block policy. Discount will apply based on the claims and numbers of properties you would like to insure under one policy.
